Abstract

"It has been defined that at least three steps are required to achieve STE compliant content: receiving training, using dictionaries and using checkers. However, authors may often rely too much on STE-checkers and therefore may forget what their main goal is: to write an unambiguous and simple procedure according to universal rules. This could lead to a situation where a text is fully STE compliant but still hard to understand. Their view is that the critical balance between the expertise of the author and the feedback from the STE-checker should result in high-quality content. Support for this view has given in the current article by the use of three separate empirical studies; findings are explained by introducing the HyperSTE Framework.
