White Paper 'Applying Simplified Technical English to your Content' out now
We are pleased to announce the release of our new White Paper 'Applying Simplified Technical English to your Content, the HyperSTE Framework'.
Abstract
"It has been defined that at least three steps are required to achieve STE compliant content: receiving training, using dictionaries and using checkers. However, authors may often rely too much on STE-checkers and therefore may forget what their main goal is: to write an unambiguous and simple procedure according to universal rules. This could lead to a situation where a text is fully STE compliant but still hard to understand. Therefore, Etteplan | tedopres focuses primarily on proper writing skills acquired through practical experience, i.e. training and best practices. Their view is that the critical balance between the expertise of the author and the feedback from the STE-checker should result in high-quality content. Support for this view has given in the current article by the use of three separate empirical studies; findings are explained by introducing the HyperSTE Framework. Adapting to this framework will make written content more clear, more STE compliant, and will make the time consuming and difficult necessity of applying STE more efficient."
