Tedopres publishes article in the CIDM newsletter
Nowadays, customer demand for technical publications hinges on getting information more quickly, concisely, and in a way that is customized to the reader. Meanwhile, technical publication departments are dealing with growing complexity of products, less time to create content and reduced publication budgets. In this paper we present the Tedopres Model for technical publication departments, enabling them to cope with this situation. Our approach is based on the philosophy that content is created systematically, according to fixed methods and agreements derived from research in the technical communication literature.
Four key requirements have been identified to significantly improve the publishing process: (1) trained and experienced authors, (2) simplified content, (3) single sourcing, (4) topic-based authoring. After having analyzed existing data from several survey studies among technical communication departments, we are convinced that applying the Tedopres Model will contribute to maximizing the quality of technical publications and minimizing the costs.
