IHC Merwede
IHC Merwede is focused on the continuous development of design and construction activities for the specialist maritime sector. It is the global market leader for efficient dredging and mining vessels and equipment – with vast experience accumulated over decades – and a reliable supplier of custom-built ships and supplies for offshore construction.
The situation
IHC received an order to deliver two dredgers. Such large ships have many installations that will be supplied by third parties. These installations are accompanied by documentation, in all shapes and sizes; hard-copy, PDF, Word document, etc. Normally the ships will then be delivered to the customer with a large amount of documentation of which the customer gets confused and it will cost a lot of time to find the installation manual for instance.
The challenge
Gather all the information, create one system and set up an efficient documentation flow and re-use of information.
The solution
- Tedopres will map all the documentation concerning installation. We’ll also gather everything in a S1000D content management system. This is a clever way to create an overview of all (third party) information. At the highest level of the system, a visual layer will be created, to supply an overview of all the documentation that is available. This makes it possible to find information regarding all installations quickly, so that maintenance tasks can be completed much more efficiently!
- This system is not just a benefit for the customer; it is also beneficial to IHC, because it can otherwise take IHC a lot of time to gather all the documentation that belongs to one single ship.
- Tedopres used the S1000D modular approach. This means that per installation, a separate publication module will be created from the system. This allows for future ships to efficiently re-use the existing information modules concerning installation. Resulting in significant time reduction and cost savings in creating documentation.
Mastership
MasterShip is a company on the cutting edge of modern shipbuilding technology with customers all over the world. Based on more than 20 years of experience in shipbuilding work preparation, MasterShip helps shipbuilders to produce ships and yachts faster and cheaper, using its unique and mature based MasterShip Software and its unique Services formula. MasterShip-software translates a design concept into production information and is fully integrated with the latest AutoCAD versions.
The situation
Mastership wanted to use a logo to display various parts of their software products (software to design ships in 3D). The objective of their product had changed; therefore their current logo didn’t reflect the products any more. Also, after so many years, the logo could use an update.
The challenge
Create a new product logo that can represent and explain every software product instantly.
The solution
Tedopres developed a new logo which fit the current product gamma and is more modern design-wise. To present the different software products, Tedopres used the basics of that logo, but with each product the emphasis of the logo changed (in color, in detail) to emphasize the part of the ship that could be designed with that specific software product.
Hunter Douglas
Hunter Douglas is a world leading company in window decoration. They supply innovative systems for window covers (indoor and outdoor), ceilings, sun screens and façade decoration.
The situation
Hunter Douglas developed an innovative system for sun screens. They wanted to present this product in an appealing way at a trade fair that is very important to Hunter Douglas.
The challenge
To create an animation that perfectly shows the new sun screen system.
The solution
Based on the 3D model of the sun screen, Tedopres created an animation that beautifully demonstrates this innovative system with all of its possibilities and benefits. Tedopres is able to generate, based on 3D models, clear illustrations and animations not just for documentation (manuals), but also for training and commercial objectives.
